Its story begins with something remarkable: Knob Hill Tract Lot 1. Before the Esplanade became the prestigious coastal address it is today, this bluff marked the edge of a growing seaside community. Here, where land meets sea in spectacular fashion, a little cottage was built in 1950. More than 75 years later, it remains. From its extraordinary perch, 809 opens to a panorama of ocean, sky and coastlinethe dramatic cliffs of Palos Verdes to the south, an uninterrupted Pacific horizon to the west, and the coastline unfolding north into the distance. But the magic of The Cottage isnt simply what you see. Its what you experience. Morning light dances across the water as salt air and ocean breezes drift across the bluff. Pelicans, ospreys, hawks and owls glide past at eye level. Foxes wander the sand below while dolphins and whales appear beyond the breakers.
